Neymar's stance on the Brazilian elections continues to be a talking point, with his countrymen not quick to forget his support for losing candidate and outgoing president Jair Bolsonaro.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward publicly backed the far-right former president on numerous occasions.
This angered some of his fellow Brazilians, including some from the world of football.
Former Lyon midfielder and renowned set-piece specialist Juninho Pernambucano didn't mince his words when talking about Neymar's support for the far right. Juninho himself celebrated the victory of left-wing candidate Lula da Silva.
"I get sick when I see right-wing Brazilian players like Neymar supporting fascists," said Juninho after the elections, as reported by journalist Juan Arango.
"We come from below and we are the people. How can we be on the other side?"
Since Bolsonaro's defeat, Neymar has posted on social media with the message "may your will be done, God."
Neymar may well soon find out that it is Lula's will to pursue a tax evasion case against him.
The former Barcelona and Santos star is reported to have a very large unsettled bill with the Brazilian authorities which Bolsonaro was willing to pardon.

"Hey Neymar, you'll have to declare [your taxes]!" chanted groups of voters celebrating Lula's victory.
