Paris Saint-Germain extended their lead atop the Ligue 1 standings to eight points after Kylian Mbappe's penalty deep in stoppage time gave them a 2-1 victory over Strasbourg.
With second-place Lens set for a trip to Nice on Thursday, Christoph Galtier's men took care of business in their first match since the World Cup break, though it was anything but easy.
PSG needed just 14 minutes to open the scoring. Neymar sent a free-kick into the penalty area which found the head of Marquinhos, with his effort beating Matz Sels in the Strasbourg goal.
The assist means the Brazilian is the first player in Europe's top five leagues to reach double figures in both goals and assists in 2022/23.
Against all odds Strasbourg, who entered the match second from bottom after a disastrous first half to the season, levelled the match minutes after the restart.
Some sloppy defending by PSG resulted in the ball falling to Adrien Thomasson, who's cross into the middle was deflected by Marquinhos and past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Things became even more complicated for PSG in the 63rd minute when Neymar was shown a second yellow the span of a few minutes after diving to try and win a penalty.
The numerical disadvantage proved difficult for the home side to overcome, with the match seemingly destined for a draw until Gerzino Nyamsi was deemed to have fouled Mbappe in the penalty area deep into stoppage time.
Referee Clement Turpin hastily stopped play even though Marquinhos picked up the ball and fired home, though the Frenchman stepped up and made no mistake, securing all three points for the home side.
