Lionel Messi netted a stoppage-time direct free-kick to help Paris Saint-Germain snatch a last-gasp 4-3 victory over Lille at the Parc des Princes.

Kylian Mbappe and Neymar scored one each to give PSG a two-goal lead 17 minutes into the first half, but Lille managed to turn the game around.

Bafode Diakite pulled one back midway through the first half and Jonathan David bagged a second-half brace to complete the visitors' impressive comeback.

A defeat could have proven costly for PSG coach Christophe Galtier, whose job is at risk due to PSG's recent below-par performances and poor results.

However, Mbappe and Messi stepped up, with the France international netting his second to equalize in the 87th minute and the latter sending his low free-kick into the back of the net.

This was PSG's first win in four games across all competitions after they were eliminated in Coupe de France at the hands of Marseille, lost 3-1 at Monaco in Ligue 1 and were beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

With their win on Saturday, PSG remain top of the Ligue 1 table, eight points above second-placed Marseille. As for Lille, they sit sixth with 41 points.
