Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp urges FIFA to act over Saudi Arabia's transfer window closing three weeks after the European deadline
- The transfer deadline for Europe's top five leagues is set to close on September 1
- Clubs in Saudi Arabia will have until September 20 to complete their business
- Klopp has expressed concerns over the difference between the two deadlines
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has called on FIFA to act over Saudi Arabia's transfer window closing three weeks after the European deadline, amid the country's summer spree.
The transfer window will close in Europe's top five leagues on September 1.
Clubs in Saudi Arabia have until September 20 to complete their business, having already invested heavily this summer.
The difference in deadlines could lead to disruption to squads in Europe, should the Saudi Pro League attract further big names.
Liverpool have already seen their ex-captain Jordan Henderson complete a £12m transfer to Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq, while Fabinho moved to Al-Ittihad for £40m on Monday.

Klopp was asked about the influence of the Saudi Pro League on the transfer market during Liverpool's pre-season tour in Singapore.
The Liverpool boss claimed the 'worst thing' was the difference between the closing of the respective transfer deadlines and called on FIFA to act.
‘It is massive, in the moment,’ .
‘Pretty much the worst thing I think is that the transfer window in Saudi Arabia is open three weeks longer.
‘If I am right, I heard something like that, then at least in Europe that's not helpful. ‘UEFA or FIFA must find solutions for that.
'But in the end, at this moment, I don't know exactly what will happen.
'It is already influential, for us, for sure. We will have to learn to deal with it, and that's what we do.
'That's pretty much all I can say about it, time will show.'
Saudi Arabian clubs will be able to sign top stars like Karim Benzema, centre, from European clubs for an additional three weeks due to their transfer deadline expiring on September 20
Man City boss Pep Guardiola has sounded a warning over the Saudi Pro League's influence
Roberto Firmino, N'Golo Kante, Ruben Neves, Edouard Mendy and Allan Saint-Maximin are also among the Premier League stars to have moved to the Saudi Pro League this summer.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola has also warned that the league's financial strengthen cannot be ignored, after Riyad Mahrez signed for Al-Ahli in a £30m move.
‘A few months ago when Cristiano [Ronaldo] was the only one to go, no one thought this many top, top players would play in the Saudi league. In the future there will be more and that’s why clubs need to be aware of what is happening,' Guardiola said.
‘Saudi is not about being a threat, it is a reality. They want to create a strong league and so far they are the league who can do it. The Premier League spent more than the others because the organisation is better and the broadcast rights are higher.
‘The Saudi league, I don't know how long they will sustain that. But the players want to take this experience and play in that league. Saudi Arabia has changed the market.’
