Jurgen Klopp was livid with Ryan Gravenberch and his poor pressing before Arsenal's first goal
Gravenberch gestured back to Klopp as if trying to explain what had happened but struggled to get into the game and was taken off after 58 minutes.
On Monday Night Football, Jamie Carragher said he felt Gravenberch had struggled to cope with Liverpool's pressing demands during the game.
'There is no doubt, Jurgen Klopp mentioned it at the end of the game, he spoke about a triangle on this [right] side,’ Carragher said.
‘The two players who came in, Gakpo and Gravenberch, they found it tough, and their pressing just wasn’t at the right time, they were just getting cut open. Getting played around them, little touches and then they [Arsenal] were out.’
Klopp had said: 'Right from the start it didn’t really look like our day but maybe we could have turned it into our day – second half, the start was really good.
‘Again, it is just proof, evidence, whatever you want, what momentum makes. First half, Arsenal started well, that’s clear.
‘We didn’t play enough football, we needed to get used a little bit to each other, like the right-side triangle – [it was] tricky to find, let me say it like that.’
