Mohamed Salah cut a sullen figure during Liverpool's pre-match warm-ups ahead of kick-off against West Ham after being relegated to the bench.
The Egyptian is Liverpool's most prolific goalscorer this season with 24 strikes in all competitions but struggled in the midweek Merseyside derby defeat against Everton.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has usually relied on Salah in big games during his stunning Liverpool tenure but has opted to start Harvey Elliott in his place at the London stadium.
Misfiring striker Darwin Nunez was also replaced for the test against the Hammers and joined Salah on the bench as Klopp made the huge call to replace two of his most formidable forwards.
Luis Diaz was the only forward to keep his starting role after Tuesday's crushing defeat at Goodison Park.

There was no sign of Salah's usual pre-match delight whenever Liverpool play as warm-ups got underway ahead of the 12.30pm kick-off against West Ham.
The 31-year-old appeared to be sulking as he was put through a host of team and individual warm-up drills.
Salah's frustration hasn't gone unnoticed as Liverpool fans took to social media to vent unfamiliar annoyance at the club's legendary winger.
Former Premier League player and pundit Jan Age Fjortoft was quick to spot Salah's unhappy expression and shared a video of the Liverpool forward going through a rondo drill with team-mates.
Fans reacted to the footage and questioned the Liverpool star's commitment to the cause after being tipped for a potential summer exit alongside Klopp.
Fjortoft captioned his initial post on X: 'Salah on the bench….not happy….shouldn’t be'.
Reaction then flooded in, with one Liverpool supporter replying: 'It's totally deserved, he's not been good enough recently'.
Another critic similarly added: 'He seems checked out,' while a third comment read: 'He 100% should be, he’s been awful for about ten games. No player is bigger than Liverpool FC'.
Other joined in with a follow-up comment in response to Fjortoft, stating: 'He's not looked right since his return from injury & you shouldn't be picked on reputation.
'I would be amazed if he stayed in the summer. I think it's the right time for both Liverpool and Salah to part ways. He is and always will be a Liverpool LEGEND.'
Another post suggested the Champions League and Premier League winner was upset, adding: ' Hope he's not sulking...'.
