The BBC and ITV are locked in a battle to land Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou for their Euros coverage.
Mail Sport understands that ITV appear to have the upper hand in a two-way fight to make the Australian part of their punditry team.
Both are thought to have missed out on departed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who will instead head to the tournament in his home nation as a fan, as he takes a well-earned break from the game.
Postecoglou, who is currently Down Under with Spurs on their whistle-stop trip to play Newcastle in Melbourne, will be viewed as a hot ticket after an entertaining first season at Tottenham.
The former Celtic boss, 58, may have missed out on a Champions League place with his side following a late season slump but his style of football and forthright nature in front of the camera has been viewed by many as a breath of fresh air.

Postecoglou, a student of the game, is viewed as a private figure away from the game and his opinions may well give one broadcaster the edge over the other.
An announcement on line-ups is expected in the near future, potentially over the coming days.
Meanwhile, Leicester City defender Conor Coady has been snapped up by BBC Radio 5 Live. The 31-year-old was in both England squads for the last two major tournaments but failed to make an appearance.
At the Euros of 2021 Coady was hailed as 'player of the tournament' by assistant manager Steve Holland, who hailed his impact on the England camp.
