Eagle-eyed football fans have raised their eyebrows upon noticing what book Mohamed Salah appears to be reading after the Liverpool forward posted a picture of the book's front cover on his Instagram story.

It comes as speculation is mounting over the Egyptian's future at the Merseyside club, with Salah's contract at Anfield set to expire in 2025.

The 31-year-old, who had been linked with a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia last summer, was also recently embroiled in a touchline spat with outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp, sparking further concerns over his future at the club.

While the winger appeared unhappy with his manager at being benched for their draw against West Ham, it seems Klopp and Salah quickly buried the hatchet, with the Egyptian recently issuing a thank you message to the German coach following his departure from the club.

On Wednesday, Salah appeared to post an image on his Instagram story of the front cover of a book he appears to be reading, titled 'Surrounded by Idiots'.

'Surrounded by Idiots' has reportedly sold over 1.5million copies worldwide and aims to help readers to communicate better with other people better, by classifying individuals into four personality types based on four different colours, red, yellow, green and blue.

Salah appeared to be holding the Arabic version of the book with, fans online suggesting that the Liverpool forward was trying to tell them something.

One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote: 'What is he trying to say?' adding three thinking emojis.

Another added: 'The timing of this.' While another wrote: 'We really need context.'

'No way he posts this for no reason,' said another fan.

But Jurgen Klopp's side just dropped off the pace, towards the back end of the season, after suffering a 2-0 defeat by Everton before drawing 2-2 to West Ham.

The Reds had struggled in front of goal towards the back end of the campaign, with Salah, only scoring three times after coming back from injury in March.

And despite a touchline row with Klopp during their draw at the London Stadium, the pair appeared to bury the hatchet, with Salah this week issuing a message of thanks to the departing manager.

The 31-year-old took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a pic of them together on the training ground, and the message: 'It was great sharing all those trophies and experiences with you over the past 7 years.

Questions have been mounting over Salah's future at Liverpool, with his contract set to expire next summer.

Despite that, Salah offered a big clue on his social media last week that he could be staying at the club.
