England stars Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham have been showcasing a new bizarre handshake in training that has left fans bewildered.

Handshakes, dances and rehearsed choreography are all part of goal celebrations in the modern game and fans can expect to see plenty of examples across the course of the European Championship.

Now, Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham appear to have a new celebration for fans as they performed an unusual personal handshake that involved both players blowing on their hands.

Liverpool star, Alexander-Arnold and Real Madrid icon, Bellingham share a close friendship and have previously been seen laughing and joking together while on England duty.

Their good spirits on show in Germany will be a welcome delight for Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate as he prepares to name his first team for their tournament opener against Serbia on Sunday.

Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold are both expected to be involved and the pair looked calm as they went about practicing their new greeting amongst their team-mates.

A video posted online shows the duo shake hands, point their fingers in an upwards motion and then each taking it in turns to blow on their hands as if they were trying to put out a flame.

The exchange lasted just a couple of seconds before both returned their attention to training, but fans could expect to see the handshake again if either player scores at the European Championship.

Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa was a keen onlooker as he watched the exchange unfold and smiled as Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold maintained cool composure.

Secret handshakes are commonplace amongst team-mates and symbolise unity, but some Liverpool fans believe Bellingham could be trying to lure Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid.

'Trent on a free transfer to Real Madrid!' said one concerned supporter commenting on the video. 

The Liverpool star is one player who's future is in doubt at Anfield as he enters the final year of his contract and Spanish giants Madrid believed to be monitoring the situation.

Meanwhile, Bellingham has starred since moving to the Spanish capital last year, winning the Champions League and LaLiga, and is now hoping to replicate his success with the national team.
