Former Man United managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and David Moyes, and ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez in the panel that will choose the Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament after England's clash against Spain

Former Manchester United managers Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and David Moyes, as well as ex-Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez are among are star-studded list of names that will decide the Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament. 

The prestigious prize has celebrated the outstanding performer at every edition of the tournament since 1996 and with England and Spain going head-to-head in Sunday's final, there is every chance the award will pass to a difference-maker on either side. 

Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma scooped the prize in 2021 after an impressive campaign that was capped off with a decisive contribution in the final penalty shoot-out win against the Three Lions. 

This year's UEFA technical observers will decide who takes home the trophy in addition to prizes for the best young player, team and goal.

The panel makes their decision based on 'data-driven reports on each game', while each member supported by an expert team of analysts based in Nyon, Switzerland. Ultimately the group come together after the clash to decide their winners.

David Moyes is also a UEFA technical observers for EURO 2024 and has been present at a number of matches during the tournament

Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is another name that will be familiar to Premier League fans

UEFA claim that when choosing the Payer Player and Young Player of the Tournament, their technical observers 'take individual performances and the player's impact on his team into account.'

Additionally, they consider whether a player played 'with a positive attitude and respect towards the opposition.'

In addition to former Man United and Liverpool bosses, former Three Lions manager Fabio Capello, ex-Chelsea boss Avram Grant and short-lived Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer are also in the group. 

Spain youngster Lamine Yamal, who turned 17 on Saturday, looks a shoo-in to claim the Young Player of the Tournament prize regardless of the outcome of Sunday's clash in Berlin. 

He may yet take both trophies if he is instrumental in guiding Spain to their fourth European Championship. In fact, there are a number of players in Luis de la Fuente's side who will have their eye on the prize.

Should England upset the bookmakers and claim a historic win, one of their roster would be expected to claim the individual trophy. Skipper Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka are among the leading candidates.
