  • Trent Alexander-Arnold has emerged as a target for Spanish giants Real Madrid
  • However, reports now indicate the player is keen to stay at Liverpool next year
  • The club are lining up a potential new deal to keep the full-back in Merseyside

Liverpool are set to offer Trent Alexander-Arnold a huge new deal as the defender prepares to snub interest from Real Madrid, according to reports.

Earlier this month, it emerged that the Reds full-back had drawn interest from the Spanish giants as they eyed up a potential move during the summer window.

Given the fact Alexander-Arnold has entered the final year of his contract, it comes as no surprise that Real Madrid have reignited their interest.

However, reports now claim that the defender is keen to stay at Anfield and that the side are preparing to offer him a new long-term deal at the club.

According to The Sun, Alexander-Arnold has spoken to new boss Arne Slot and is committed to the new era under the Dutchman with the Merseyside giants.

Real Madrid 'make concrete plans to sign Trent THIS SUMMER'... with the Liverpool star 'interested'

'They had a great conversation initially but the manager respected that he needed to focus on the tournament.

'Trent, like the rest of the squad, sees this as a new beginning and a fresh start and he is excited to get back to training to lay the foundations for a successful, new season.

'He is definitely committed for the season and a huge deal will be presented to him to stay beyond that'.

There had been uncertainty over his future at Liverpool given his expiring deal and the departure of Jurgen Klopp - who the full-back had a close relationship with.

This was epitomised when Alexander-Arnold - along with Virgil van Dijk - burst into tears as the German coach said farewell to the Liverpool supporters back in May.

As it stands, Alexander-Arnold has made 310 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 19 goals in all competition for the Reds.

Real Madrid were keen to sign Alexander-Arnold, following the arrival of striker Kylian Mbappe

He also also won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup twice with the Merseyside club.

Alexander-Arnold has also represented his country 29 times, with his most recent outings coming during England's 2024 Euro campaign.

Alexander-Arnold started England's first two Euros group games in central midfield, despite right back being his most regular position at club level.

The Liverpool star also scored a penalty during England's quarter-final shootout win against Switzerland, but he failed to make an appearance during the final with Spain.
