Guardiola: No time to be nervous

'There's no time to be nervous,' he told BT. 'Come on. Manchester is blue. This is an incredible opportunity. Who knows when we will have this opportunity again.

'People say next season, but next season the Premier League will be really tough and the Champions League also. So now we are here, we have to do everything we've done all season. And hope that the team who deserves to reach the final, reaches the final.'

19:28

Warm-ups underway

19:25

Ferdinand: Players can't look too far ahead

'As a player, you'll know who's in the final and they'll be thinking "if you give me them at the start of the tournament, I'd have bit your arm off".

'And I think that's what both of these teams will be thinking in the dressing room. This is the final guys. We win this, we win the Champions League. If you look too far ahead you're in trouble. You can't look too far forward and I don't think these guys will. They're too experienced.'

19:16

Rio Ferdinand shocked by Rudiger omission

Speaking on BT Sport, he said: 'I actually don't know (what Ancelotti is thinking). I finished watching that game thinking "have we finally seen a defender who can deal with Haaland"?

'Sometimes you think to yourself, if he's got his number, you have to go with your instincts. Ancelotti's gone with someone he knows, who's tried and tested, and obviously they won it last year with Militao, he's been integral to everything that's been good about them in the last season or so. So he's gone back to what he knows.

'But I think it's a massive call. And if it goes wrong, that's something where the media in Spain will be honing in on. How can you drop someone who's done so well against their talisman?'

19:07

The odds

City win 1/2

Draw 10/3

Madrid win 9/2

Ancelotti: 'we get the most out of ourselves in difficult situations'

"We are close to doing something important. We are full of hope, motivated. It is going to be tough tomorrow but sometimes we get the most out of ourselves in difficult situations," Ancelotti said.

"The plan is the same as ever, to try and get as much out of the players [as possible]. I think we can do better than we did in the first leg, but I think they do too.

"Today, I am calm and full of hope. Matchday is the day when the worries come in. You think things through, whether [Erling] Haaland is going to score, or [Kevin] De Bruyne is going to hurt you. It is about managing your head.

"The match is unpredictable. If you think you are the best team in the world, it doesn't mean you are 100% sure to win. It is not just about quality, it is about personality and mentality."

Pep: My legacy is not on the line

"I have been here many times," he said.

"My legacy is exceptional already. I have told the players to enjoy the moment - we are incredibly lucky to be here.

"It's in our hands, it depends on us, we don't have to do something exceptional - just win one game to reach the final.

"I have an incredible feeling about them. Whatever happens - thank you so much to them for bringing me and the City fans here again."

State of play (1-1)

City will feel confident after securing a good result at the Bernabeu in a game where they certainly didn't have it all their own way.

Pep Guardiola's team started the game strongly but found themselves 1-0 down courtesy of a brilliant goal from Vinicius.

It was Madrid who looked the more likely to score again after the break but Kevin De Bruyne then drew his side level with a fierce strike.
