Dean Henderson has completed his move to Crystal Palace after leaving Manchester United.

An initial £15m plus £5m in achievable add-ons secured his exit from the north-west as United recoup funds in transfer sales that are now expected to be used on new arrivals.

The England international goalkeeper has agreed a five-year contract at Selhurst Park after leaving Old Trafford on a permanent deal.

Henderson rose through the ranks of United's academy but has agreed to leave the club after Andre Onana's arrival as Erik ten Hag's number one.

Speaking to the club's official website after joining Palace, Henderson said: 'I'm absolutely delighted and buzzing to be here. I can't wait to get started.

'This club has got great fans and has a lot of top players who are hungry to succeed. There's something being built here, and I really want to be a part of it.'

Henderson spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest but saw his time at the City Ground end prematurely after suffering an injury that ensured he missed the end of season.

Palace have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper to rival fellow England shot-stopper Sam Johnstone, with Henderson providing competition between the posts.

After completing the transfer, Palace chairman Steve Parish said: 'Dean is a fantastic addition to our squad and goalkeeping unit.

'We have been long-term admirers of Dean's, following his ascension through the ranks at Manchester United and England, but also his impressive achievements whilst on loan at Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United.'

Meanwhile, United are close to completing a £4.3m deal for Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir as Ten Hag looks for a new number two to provide back-up for Onana.

Henderson, spent 12 years at Old Trafford and briefly challenged David de Gea as the club's main goalkeeper before being ousted by previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
