Marcus Rashford has delivered a worrying message to fans on social media, revealing that he has endured 'months of abuse', with Man United supporters pinning some of the blame on YouTuber Mark Goldbridge.

The 26-year-old forward has had a difficult season on the pitch, failing to match the achievements of his 30-goal haul during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring eight goals so far across all competitions this season.

Goldbridge runs a fan channel called The United Stand, which has 1.85million subscribers on YouTube. He has recently released several videos in which he criticises the England star, notably once referring to Rashford as 'about as useful as a wheely bin with no wheels.'

On Thursday evening, Rashford responded to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that said: 'The way Marcus Rashford is being treated is absolutely disgusting. It's cruel. It's abuse.'

The 26-year-old wrote back claiming that he was tired of the abuse he has received in recent months. 'I appreciate your support! It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough,' Rashford said on X.

As a team, Erik ten Hag's side have endured a difficult season, crashing out of the Champions League and have dropped to sixth in the Premier League standings, with several United stars recently being heavily scrutinised for their performances by some former pros and pundits.

Last Sunday, United scraped through to the FA Cup final after beating Championship side Coventry City on penalties, despite giving away a three-goal lead in the match

Goldbridge posted a video on his YouTube channel reflecting on the game where he claims Ten Hag left Rashford on the pitch for too long. He said: 'Leaving Rashford on, who is about as useful as a wheely bin with no wheels.'

In a separate video after the semi-final, he added: 'Why is he [Rashford] still being picked? Why is it not changing, when is it going to change? I'm out of excuses I don't know what to say. He shouldn't be playing for Manchester United at the moment. It's embarrassing.'

He added: 'What I want to know is is it in his contract [to keep starting]?'

One supporter took to X to comment on the video, saying: 'How has Mark goldbridge managed to turn united bottling a 3-0 lead to Coventry on Rashford.'

Another appeared to reflect the same sentiment, writing: 'Its in Rashford's contract to start every game according to Mark Goldbridge. Claims like this are so toxic.'

Rashford has also recently hit back at some fans who have questioned his commitment to Manchester United. Earlier this season the forward missed training after being pictured on night out at a Belfast night club.

'Listen, I'm not a perfect person,' Rashford wrote in an article published in the

. 'When I make a mistake, I'll be the first one to put my hand up and say I need to do better.

'But if you ever question my commitment to Man United, that's when I have to speak up.

'It's like somebody questioning my entire identity and everything I stand for. I grew up here. I have played for this club since I was a boy. My family turned down life-changing money when I was a kid so I could wear this badge.'

United came back from going a goal down to Sheffield United on Wednesday to seal a 4-2 win, with Goldbrige posting another video online criticising Rashford's influence in the team.

Goldbridge questioned whether United are having enough shots on goal when Rashford is on the pitch.

'Do we do that when Rashford's in the team? I don't know because it's Sheffield United, that's the honest answer,' he said.

'But tell me we do that on the regular? We don't, we don't. We don't regularly have 12 shots on target and 90 per cent pass accuracy. We're not regularly doing that.'

Another user wrote on X: 'Anyone saying this is criticism is just lying to themselves, nothing to do with Marcus Rashford but brings him up anyway to pile the hate on.

'Mark Goldbridge is carrying out a well thought out hate campaign and he needs to be stopped.'

The YouTuber has previously delivered some explosive rants online, recently calling their late 4-3 defeat by Chelsea an 'injustice'.

Rashford has also suffered has previously spoken out against being racially abused following England's Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy.

He, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were subjected to messages online after missing penalties during the final.

Speaking to Gary Neville on , Rashford said that the messages he received had made him 'fall out of love with football'.

'I maybe lost my love for football a little bit [after being racially abused following Euro 2020], it was not for a long period of time,' Rashford said.

'My shoulders were also down for a couple of months, and that's probably when it was playing on my mind a little bit more.

'After that, it was fine. I was desperate to get playing again in a United shirt – I love to just play football and as soon as I did that, I wanted to play for England again.'

Former Man United defender Paul Parker has also hit out at Goldbrige last year, claiming that the YouTuber had been the cause of some 'problems' at the club.

Parker told BonusCodeBets: 'I don't like what Mark Goldbridge is doing.

'It's a problem. Everyone has to make a living but you have to be very, very thick skinned to make money off the back of something you don't like.

'He has no relationship to Man United, he is a Nottingham Forest fan. It's an incredible skill to do that, actually… To make money on the back of something you don't like.

'He is attacking the club, the manager and the owners of a football club that you don't even love. He has no inner feeling with the club and it's a scary but incredible feeling to have to be that invested in a club that you don't support.
