Injuries and Raiola's demands push Haaland away from Real Madrid

When the month of April comes to an end, Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland will have decided on his next club.

Manchester City and Real Madrid are the main candidates for his signature, although Paris Saint-Germain are also in the race.

However, Real Madrid's efforts to sign the Norwegian have been dealt a blow as Mino Raiola has made his extortionate demands for his client clear.

Raiola is asking for Haaland to have a salary of 30 million euros net, which the Real Madrid club hierarchy are unwilling to lay out.

Also, the 21-year-old's injury record is causing Los Blancos concern. He has suffered 14 injuries already, three of which have come this season.

Given the terrible injury records of Gareth Bale and Eden Hazard, Real Madrid know that they cannot afford another costly mistake.

The final word

Haaland is considering his options very carefully. He is enticed by the opportunity of playing for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, where he knows that he would be the main man as opposed to sharing the limelight with Kylian Mbappe at Real Madrid.

At Valdebebas it is believed that the player will have the final word, but should Alf-Inge Haaland, his father, listen to Raiola's advice, it is more likely that he signs for Manchester City.

City are willing to meet Haaland's salary demands, and they would place a release clause in his contract so that he would be able to achieve his dream of playing in Spain in the future.
