The Club World Cup was originally due to take place in December but organisers were forced to rearrange the tournament because it clashed with the Qatar World Cup. This year's competition sees seven sides from around the world collide to determine the best club team in the world. The tournament kicked off on Wednesday, with Al Ahly progressing through to the second-round after defeating Auckland City 3-0. This year's Club World Cup will take place in Morocco, with Tangier and Rabat the two hosts cities. Over the years fans will have noticed that only one team from Europe gets to compete in the tournament. In order to qualify for the Club World Cup from Europe, the team who wins the Champions League from the previous season will receive entry to the tournament. In South America, the team who wins the Copa Libertadores will also earn a place in the tournament. Both Madrid and Flamengo have automatic byes into the semi-final stage. The Champions League and Copa Libertadores winners receive byes into the semi-final stage OFC Champions League winners, Auckland City, unlike Madrid and Flamengo have to go through the first-round of the competition and the same rule applies for CAF runners-up, Al Ahly. As for CAF winners Wydad Casablanca, CONCACAF Champions League holders, Seattle Sounders and the current AFC Champions League holders, Al-Hilal, they all receive automatic places in the second-round for a chance to progress through to the semi-final stage. The winner of the two semi-final games will go on to face each other for a chance to win the Club World Cup. How much do you win if you win the tournament? It is fair to say that the prize money for the competition is more than reasonable, with the winners receiving a total of £4million. For those who finish runners-up, they will not come away empty-handed as they will receive £3m. Despite getting knocked out in the first-round, Auckland City will come away with £407,000 The third place team come away with £2m, whilst the team who finish fourth will receive £1.6m. Even the teams who fail to finish within the top four still come away with a substantial sum.
