Karim Benzema 'could be set to leave Real Madrid and reunite with former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia'... with the French striker 'eyeing up a two-year deal worth £345MILLION'

  • An unnamed Saudi Arabian club want to settle his possible move by Thursday
  • Real host Athletic Bilbao on the final day of the LaLiga season on Sunday

Karim Benzema could wave goodbye to Real Madrid this weekend and join ex-teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia next season, according to reports.

The reigning Ballon d'Or holder is contracted to Real Madrid for the next 12 months, but it is thought that the club would let the Frenchman leave early.

The 35-year-old has reportedly received a huge offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabian club, which would see Benzema pocket £345m over two years.

Sky Italia report that the anonymous side want to get the matter settled by Thursday, so that Benzema can wave farewell to the Bernabeu with their final home game of the LaLiga season against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday evening.

Earlier this month, Carlo Ancelotti said Real Madrid would be looking to sign a new striker in anticipation of Benzema's departure, with his age being a crucial factor.

But Ancelotti declared: 'Karim is doing very well up until now and while he is in good condition, it's working very well.

'It's true that Karim has had his up and downs, but Rodrygo has progressed, [Marco] Asensio has progressed. But it's also true to say that in the last two years, the problem has not been the forwards.'

Benzema spent nine years with Ronaldo at Real Madrid, before the Portuguese star moved to Juventus.

The 38-year-old has been making waves in Saudi Arabia - and the flight of international stars to the Middle-Eastern territory - after his big-money move to Al-Nassr late last year.

Al-Nassr finished second in the league during his first season, but it did not stop Ronaldo from hailing the future possibilities of the top-flight in the country.

Ronaldo said: 'The Saudi league is getting better, next year will be even better.

'Step by step, I think, this league will be in the top five leagues in the world but they need time, they need players, they need infrastructure. But I believe this country has amazing potential. They have amazing people and the league will be great in my opinion.'

Benzema is Real Madrid's second all-time top goalscorer with 354 strikes credited to his name. Ronaldo leads the list with 450.

Real Madrid's potential options for a Benzema replacement include Harry Kane, who's exit from Tottenham Hotspur has been widely speculated.
