PSG have accepted a $332 million offer from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal for Kylian Mbappe, opening the door for the Frenchman to discuss personal terms.

The fee would be a world record for a transfer, with the Saudi side going so far as to tempt the 24-year-old with an offer of $776 million for one season according to CBS Sports.

It's the latest chapter in the ongoing saga over Mbappe's future at PSG. The striker wasn't included in PSG's squad for their Asian tour, and he is currently back in Paris training with the other players deemed surplus to requirements.

Mbappe only has one year remaining on his contract with the French giants and has made it clear he will not be taking up his option to extend his deal until 2025 at the end of the season.

As a result, PSG have made it clear they will move on from him this summer unless he signs a new deal.

Al Hilal's offer is only for one season, which would leave the door open for Mbappe to join Real Madrid next summer on a free transfer.

Could Mbappe move to Saudi Arabia?

The offer made to Mbappe was reportedly earmarked for Lionel Messi before the Argentine opted to join Inter Miami of the MLS instead.

While Al Hilal have been given permission to speak with Mbappe, ESPN reports that the Frenchman isn't currently interested in the offer.

Nonetheless, it does show Saudi Arabia are serious about landing the biggest names in football. After Cristiano Ronaldo joined the league, the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Roberto Firmino have all signed on.

What the offer does show is that PSG are willing to accept offers for the Frenchman, which may put pressure on Real Madrid to act now to land him.

While landing Mbappe on a free transfer is the preferred option, reports suggest funds have been set aside to land the striker.

A loan with an obligation to buy could make sense for both sides, though Real Madrid's preference is to sign him without a transfer fee so that the signing bonus goes directly to the player.
