Tom Brady met the stars of the Real Madrid team on Sunday night, after making the visit to Spain to watch El Clasico and their incredible 3-2 win over Barcelona.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner, who became a part-owner of English championship team Birmingham last year, watched from the stands at the Santiago Bernabeu as Jude Bellingham - a former Birmingham player - scored a 90th minute winner for Real.

Brady, 46, witnessed a thriller from one of the most prestigious games in European football with Barcelona going ahead after six minutes through Andreas Christensen, before Vinicius Junior got Madrid level.

Barcelona retook the lead in the second half through Fermin Lopez but it only lasted four minutes until Lucas Vasquez got the hosts level again. The 20-year-old Bellingham had the last word, converting powerfully from six yards in stoppage time to snatch victory.

And unsurprisingly it was Bellingham - who started his career at Brady's Birmingham - that the NFL legend made sure he got a photo with before posing with the rest of the Madrid team. Brady was also wearing a pin of Birmingham's crest as he met the Madrid stars.

The morning after the night before, Brady shared his pictures on Instagram and wrote: 'El Classico!! I’ve watched this match on television for many years and what a game it was last night.

'I am always grateful for moments like last night where I am able to watch others live their dream and come together as a team to accomplish lifelong goals.

'Being able to watch and appreciate greatness from athletes across the world is inspiring for us all. Sports bring so many people together and gives us something to look forward to.

'Hope, joy, and success are emotions that make life worth living. The future is in great hands with these young superstars and I wish them the best in their pursuit of glory for their families, teams, and countries they represent.

'Congrats Real Madrid for a great season. And to Barcelona for such a valiant effort last night. PS We’ll hold your parking spot in Birmingham, Jude. #KRO.'

KRO is in reference to the team's anthem 'Keep Right On'.

It has been a baptism of fire for Brady at Birmingham, however, with the team fighting to avoid relegation from the Championship - English football's second tier.

The team made a promising start to the season after bringing him into the setup before firing coach Gary Rowett and replacing him with Wayne Rooney, after the Manchester United legend left Major League Soccer team DC United.

Rooney lasted just 15 games, winning just twice, in a disastrous run before his replacement, Tony Mowbray, had to step away for medical treatment and Rowett has since returned an interim basis.

Birmingham are 22nd in the 24-team standings and would be relegated in that position.

With two games to go, the team needs to finish at least 21st to stay in the league next year.  The five teams ahead of Birmingham are all within four points and they play Huddersfield, the team below them, this weekend.

There are no such worries for Madrid, meanwhile, with the team leading second-place Barcelona by 11 points after Sunday's win.
