Real Madrid will unveil Kylian Mbappe as their new star on Monday, according to a new report.

The French icon has said goodbye to his former colleagues at PSG, and it has been widely rumoured that he would join the Spanish giants as a free agent this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti's side face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night - but once that is over, it is thought that the Mbappe deal will be quickly confirmed.

L'Equipe are reporting that Mbappe will be unveiled as a new Real Madrid player on Monday, less than 48 hours after the final at Wembley, but before the start of his international commitments with France during Euro 2024

During a training session with the national side on Thursday, Mbappe met with fans, and even signed one lucky person's Real Madrid shirt - a sure-fire sign that this deal will be finalised shortly.

On his arrival to the French national pre-tournament camp, captain Mbappe cut a business-like figure in his neutral-toned outfit, in stark contrast to the humble approach of N'Golo Kante, or Jules Kounde's decision to wear fashion-forward Cuban-heeled boots.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the relationship between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the departing Mbappe remains strong, despite claims that a rift had emerged over the terms of his departure as a free agent.

Both the club and the player have previously stated there is an agreement in place that respects PSG's huge investment in Mbappe's development as a player since his £166m move from Monaco in 2017.

Mbappe won the Coupe de France in his final match for PSG on Saturday, ending his final season at the club with 44 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions.

The French star threw a farewell party for 250 guests last week in Paris, as his former PSG team-mates bid farewell to him after seven years on their books.

Despite being officially contracted to PSG until June 30, Mbappe is already preparing for life in Madrid, having reportedly bought a £15m mega-mansion in the Spanish capital.

While he has barely even left the French capital, trading it for the Spanish one, he has already eyed up another European city where he would love to play, having grown up in admiration of AC Milan in Serie A.

Mbappe leaves as PSG's all-time record goalscorer, having scored 256 goals in 308 appearances over seven years in Paris.

Spanish champions Real Madrid and German icons Borussia Dortmund square off against each other at Wembley for the top prize in European club football.

Both Mbappe's old club PSG and incoming home Real Madrid won their respective domestic leagues this year, although PSG fell short in the Champions League semi-finals to the German finalists, while Real are seeking their 15th trophy in the tournament's history.

Real Madrid have plans to hold a trophy celebration on Sunday if they win the Champions League in London - and the festivities could carry on until the following day, if the report on Mbappe's unveiling date is true.
