Jude Bellingham has been lauded for his classy gesture following Real Madrid's 2-0 Champions League final win over Borussia Dortmund

The Spanish giants lifted the trophy for the 15th time after getting the best of their German opponents at Wembley on Saturday night.

Second-half goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr were enough for the LaLiga winners to add yet more silverware in a stunning 2022-23 campaign.

Bellingham's performances for Los Blancos have perhaps been the biggest story in a season full of extraordinary highs.

But the Englishman showed another side to him after the final whistle blew in the capital.

Having briefly taking in the euphoria of becoming a European champion for the first time, Bellingham quickly rushed to his former team-mate Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who sat dejected on the Wembley turf.

The pair spent three seasons together at the Westfalenstadion before Bellingham completed his bid-money move to the Bernabeu last summer.

The highly-touted 19-year-old Bynoe-Gittens replaced Jadon Sancho in the 87th minute of the game with the tie beyond Eden Terzic's side.

Bellingham shared a moment with the former Manchester City academy star before going over to join his Madrid colleagues, who had begun their celebrations on the far side of the pitch.

The 20-year-old endured one of his quietest nights in the final and struggled to impose himself on proceedings due to the determined defence of their opponents.

The LaLiga player of the season did still manage to get a couple of openings but he spurned a header which would have broken the deadlock before placing a shot wide of the mark minutes before Vinicius Jr scored Madrid's second.
