Adidas' 'iconic' Jude Bellingham advert has been an overwhelming hit with football fans, who have rushed to social media to laud the new piece. 

The sportwear manufacturing giant released a near-two minute video on Thursday, centered on the Real Madrid superstar and cut to the Beatles' timeless hit  'Hey Jude'. 

The ad features clips of fans looking on at England's historic moments of failure in despair and also includes appearances from former Three Lions stars David Beckham, Ian Wright and Frank Lampard. 

The famous faces of Stormzy and Laura Woods also feature in the piece.

However, it's the tonal shift towards the end of the video that really got fans excited as clips of Bellingham in his younger days playing for Birmingham appear as the music swells to the song's crescendo. Scenes of unbridled joy follow, with the 20-year-old's heroics during his debut campaign in the Spanish capital interspliced with the celebration.

Football fans were quick to applaud Adidas for the ad, with many already installing it as an instant classic. 

'Iconic,' wrote on user on X. To which Adidas' account replied: 'He is.'

Another user said: 'You've rocked my world Adidas.' A third wrote: 'PR on steroids, best ad I have seen so far. Adidas making it old school. Felt like 2006 wc era all of a sudden.'

'Literal Goosebumps, wow wow wow.' said a fourth. Another commented: 'You deserve a medal when it's coming home.'

The campaign comes as Bellingham bids to cap off a truly exceptional season after claiming the La Liga title and the Champions League last month at Wembley. He ended the term with 23 goals and 13 assists in 42 games in all competitions. 

He and his England team-mates are currently gearing up for their Euro 2024 opener against Serbia on Sunday night. Gareth Southgate's side enter the competition as favourites alongside France.

England have not been aided by the injuries to Harry Maguire - who was forced to miss the tournament - and Luke Shaw, who is working towards a return to action in the group stage.

There was also some concern raised about the fitness of John Stones after he missed training on Wednesday due to an unspecified illness. 

But the Manchester City defender was back on the training pitches on Thursday. 

Southgate must decide who will partner Bellingham and Declan Rice in the England midfield for the game in Gelsenkirchen. Liverpool star Alexander-Arnold looks set to get the nod ahead of the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Conor Gallagher.
