Observant BBC viewers spotted a small change to BBC's Euro 2024 intro before their coverage of France's game against Poland.

Kylian Mbappe's side have already qualified for the knock-out stages of the tournament after collating four points from their first two games, but may need to win to secure top spot.

They took on already-eliminated Poland in the Group D clash on Tuesday evening, with Mbappe starting for the first time since breaking his nose against Austria in his side's opener.

The forward has been donning a mask due to the nose break, able to play with protection as he waits for his injury to heal.

And BBC paid tribute to the forward in their programme introduction, which includes a game of pinball and a number of players at the tournament as characters in the game.

Around half-way through the clip, Mbappe can be seen as a player painted on the board, usually stood performing his signature arm-crossed celebration.

On this occasion, however, the Real Madrid man can be seen still performing the celebration, yet in a mask, as he has been playing in amid his nose injury.

The rest of the video played out as normal, before the programme and coverage of the game began.

'The BBC’s euros coverage is unmatched,' one viewer posted. 'Somebody somewhere went to the effort to put a mask on Mbappé in the titles!'

Another wrote: ' Very clever of the BBC to add a face mask to Mbappe during their pinball intro.'

France fans have been paying tribute to Mbappe inside the BVB Stadion in Dortmund, with many appearing in masks to mirror their captain's look for the rest of France's participation in the tournament.

He picked up the issue in the 1-0 win over Austria, colliding with the shoulder of defender Kevin Danso, leaving him bloody and having to leave the pitch.

France boss Didier Deschamps, meanwhile, recently revealed that Mbappe was struggling with the mask

'Breathing, no. But vision, yes,' he said. 'It limits vision a little. It's supposed to protect so in certain situations, it limits the angle of view.

'A greater risk of playing in the middle? No, the contacts are everywhere, in all the duels. It all depends on the position. You have to get used to it, it feels like you have 3D glasses.

'It's better every day. He was in our training sessions. The bruise has gone down a lot. He's getting used to the mask.

'He wants to play, he's raring to go. He wanted to play against the Netherlands and he wants to play [against Poland].'
