Everything that is sensible rests on the principle of non-contradiction. That's what Carlo Ancelotti must have thought when he decided to change the plan hatched last season with penalty kicks.

"Everyone has worked well and Vini Jr. gave him [Mbappe] the penalty. He was very unselfish and both of them, with Rodrygo, have a good relationship. For Mbappe it is important to score, but we evaluate the collective work," explained the Italian coach at a press conference.

As things stand, Real Madrid's new penalty selection process is working to perfection. Mbappe thanked his teammates for the gesture, picked up the ball and went straight to the penalty spot. Brahim and Vinicius then called on the crowd to cheer as Mbappe approached the spot.

"I think it's right to give the responsibility to both of them. They have the same penalty-taking ability and I don't want to choose. Also because in a match many things happen and one may have scored a goal and the other needs to do so. I have total confidence in both of them as penalty takers. I don't see the problem," explained Ancelotti ahead of the match. The Frenchman and the Brazilian, who wanted to play and score together at Madrid, are starting to connect on the pitch... and in every action they show that there is no problem between them. The dressing room stands above everything and the only thing they want is to win.
