Jude Bellingham is following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo after announcing the launch of his new YouTube channel.

The England superstar is currently recovering from an injury that has seen him sit out of Real Madrid's recent matches and miss the international break with the Three Lions.

However, Bellingham has stayed busy during his rehabilitation and has now revealed a new YouTube channel just weeks after Ronaldo took the online video platform by storm.

Ronaldo has enjoyed a meteoric rise on YouTube as he became the fastest growing person on the platform to gain 1million subscribers by achieving the feat in under 90 minutes and now holding over 57million. Now Bellingham wants to do the same.

The 21-year-old has grown up in an era of rising YouTube celebrities and launching his new channel revealed how he is going to give fans an insight into his first year at Real Madrid and England's Euro 2024 journey.

Bellingham won the LaLiga title and Champions League during his debut season at the Spanish club before starring in England's run to the European Championship final where they were beaten by Spain.

The announcement of his new online channel comes just a day after the former Birmingham-prodigy was named on a 30-man shortlist of players nominated for the Ballon d'Or.

Celebrating the start of his YouTube channel, Bellingham posted a video to his 36.5m Instagram followers, stating: 'Hi everybody it's Jude Bellingham here.

'I've heard YouTube is where it's at so I've decided to start my own channel and starting from September 12 I'll be releasing an episode a week of a behind-the-scenes documentary we've been filming of my first year at Madrid.

'The highs, the lows, the Champions League, the Euros and everything in between.

YouTube's global scale means players can expose themselves to a huge audience without the need to work with mainstream broadcasters as they create their own content.

The platform pays its most prolific stars handsomely with YouTube's most subscribed channel, Mr Beast, reportedly earning over £50m last year.
