Cristiano Ronaldo Jr will make his debut on Thursday with the Portugal U16 national team in theCopa de las Federaciones, a tournament that takes place from October 30 to November 4.

The Portuguese star's eldest son plays, like his father, for Al Nassr, although in the youth ranks, and hopes to make it to the Saudi Arabian club's first team.

Cristiano Ronaldo is now 40 years old and his contract expires in June 2027, when Cristianinho will be 17 years old, an age at which there are quite a few players who have made their debuts with big clubs, such as Lamine Yamal or Lionel Messi among others.

Seeing the projection of Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., it would not be surprising if he were to be sharing the dressing room and the pitch with his father in the not too distant future. It is a generational challenge that, although on a distant horizon, is by no means impossible

"Someday I'll have to leave it"

"I would like to play with him, but that's not something that keeps me awake at night. We'll see. That possibility is more in his hands than in mine. The years are starting to go by and someday I'll have to leave it," Cristiano Ronaldo has said on several occasions when referring to his eldest son.

Currently in the Al Nassr youth academy, which he joined in 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr is a burly striker who likes to play from the left side of the attack.

There are many times when carrying the surnames of great stars has hindered the career of their children, but Cristiano Ronaldo does not hesitate to compare himself with his eldest son.

"He's very competitive, he's like me when I was little. He doesn't like to lose. He will be like me, I'm 100% sure. I like to teach him some things, but he will be what he wants. I will always support him. Of course I would love him to be a footballer, because I think he has that passion. He has a good body, he is fast, technical and shoots well. I'm not going to put pressure on him," said the Al Nassr striker in an interview with 'DAZN' in 2018.
