The Santiago Bernabeu was dressed up on Friday to host the presentation of the 2025 Golden Boot, an award that recognises Kylian Mbappe as the best European goalscorer of the season according to the European Sports Media (ESM). The Real Madrid striker scored 31 goals in La Liga, which gave him 62 points in the coefficient system, ahead of Viktor Gyokeres (39 goals, 58.5 points) and Mohamed Salah (29 goals, 58 points).

The award was presented by Juan Ignacio Gallardo, director of MARCA and vice-president of ESM, at a ceremony held in the honour box at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, which was attended by Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid. Also present were Gyorgy Szollosi, second vice-president, and Sander Berends, secretary general of ESM.

Real Madrid wanted to support its player and give the award the relevance it deserves, opening the doors of its stadium as a sign of recognition. More than 200 attendees filled the box, including the entire Los Blancos squad and their coach, Xabi Alonso, and relatives of the French footballer, who experienced one of the most special moments since his arrival at the club.

The event began with the words of Florentino Perez, who wanted to congratulate his player and underline the importance of the award. "Dear Kylian, this boot is the result of your commitment to football. I am proud to have a player like you, who perfectly represents the values of our club".

Before closing his speech, Florentino also wanted to dedicate a few words to his sporting future at the club. "This Golden Boot is a boost for you to keep winning and thus enhance the history of Real Madrid."

Then, Juan Ignacio Gallardo took the floor to underline the symbolic and sporting value of the award. He recalled that the Golden Boot, created in 1968 and organised by ESM for 28 years, distinguishes the top European scorer without votes or juries: "You have won it with total merit thanks to the 31 goals you scored in your first season with Real Madrid," he said

Gallardo also highlighted the combination of talent, hard work and maturity that define the French striker: "With your total command of the box, your speed, strength and accuracy, you have turned scoring into a routine that seems natural," he said.

The director of MARCA closed his speech with a message of recognition and future: "Today you not only receive a Golden Boot, but probably the first of a collection. You have already fulfilled many of the dreams you had as a child, and today you make one more come true. This Boot fits you like a glove".

After Juan Ignacio Gallardo's speech, a compilation of goals scored by Kylian Mbappe during his first season at Real Madrid was shown. The French player watched with excitement and enthusiasm before giving his speech.

After the video, Mbappe took to the stage to collect the Golden Boot from Juan Ignacio Gallardo and to take the protocol photographs. The Frenchman closed the speeches with the award in his possession. First of all, he wanted to thank those present for the recognition: "Thanks to the president and all the people at MARCA and European Sport Media".

The Real Madrid star highlighted the work of the whole dressing room that has accompanied him during his stay in the capital. "Thanks to all the teammates for bringing out the best version of Kylian. We have an incredible group and we can win many things," he said

The event ended with the Frenchman surrounded by all his teammates, who went up to the podium to take a family photo, putting the finishing touch to a very special day for him.

With this Golden Boot, Mbappe crowns his first season at Real Madrid in style. The Frenchman joins a list of Los Blancos legends that includes Hugo Sanchez, Ronaldo Nazario and Cristiano Ronaldo, and puts his name on a list of winners that feeds the greatness and history of the club.
