Keith Wyness, former Aston Villa chief executive, has sent shockwaves through the Premier League market by declaring that "I think Erling Haaland could leave at the end of this season" and linking the Norwegian striker's future to Real Madrid.

"There's a lot of talk about the possible departure of Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid to Saudi Arabia. The rumours of 200 million euros for the Brazilian could be a factor that allows the Spanish club to make an offer for Haaland," Wyness told Sports Illustrated.

In 2023, Vinicius renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2027 and has a release clause of 1,000 million euros.

Haaland's contractual situation at Manchester City

Erling Haaland, who earns approximately 28.5 million euros a year, renewed with Manchester City until 2034.

"Now I'm a City player no matter what happens", Haaland made clear after renewing with Manchester City.

This season Haaland (25) is showing a spectacular level, with 11 goals in nine Premier League games.

Haaland, who already has 18 goals in all competitions this season, has scored 53 goals in 51 Champions League matches.

Haaland, who has been dubbed Cyborg, Android, Viking, Machine, Monster, Robot and even Haalandinho, admitted in 2023 the nickname he likes the most: "I like Terminator. It's good, it's brutal. I think it fits well with me."
