The Santiago Bernabeu is just days away from hosting the NFL. An American football game that will be historic for Madrid and Spain. It is a very special visit, but one that requires a series of adaptations to accommodate squads of more than 50 players, different dimensions and the famous cheerleaders. The NFL is a juggernaut that will land in Madrid this week for Sunday's game between the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Commanders at the Santiago Bernabeu. The stadium has to get ready for the occasion. The first challenge is to adapt the dimensions of the pitch, which will change from 105x68 meters to 109x48.8 meters. To achieve this, the first rows of the stands will be converted into retractable seating, which will allow the stadium to gain those meters required by the American sport. The Santiago Bernabéu prepares to welcome the NFL Another big challenge is to accommodate around 100 people, including players and coaches, per team. The dressing rooms need to be big enough to accommodate them, so the away dressing room has undergone a small refurbishment in the showers. The benches will also have to be able to accommodate many more people than they are used to on the Chamartin sidelines. https://twitter.com/USER_ID/status/1986818350480019789 The coaches, with the aim of seeing their men's tactics clearly, are divided between the bench and the stands, specifically the press box. Members of both coaching staffs will have some press boxes reserved to be able to analyze the development of the game from the 'heights' of the Bernabeu. In the mixed zones there are also changes: in the NFL, the press room is not shared, each team has a different one. This is another adaptation that requires the Bernabeu to adapt and they must enable a new place for one of the coaches to attend the press in another room and thus meet this condition
