Mbappé has a long way to go

Cristiano set a precedent in European and world soccer. He was presented at the Santiago Bernabéu on July 6, 2009, and since then, it's not just his 312 goals in La Liga and 105 in the Champions League that have been the talk of the town.

The four Champions Leagues, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles, and two Spanish Super Cups confirm that the Portuguese star was not just another player and more than justify the fans' designation of him as the club's greatest symbol.

For his part, Mbappé arrived at Xavi Alonso's team full of enthusiasm after his time at Paris Saint-Germain, in 2024. His adaptation to Real Madrid was almost instantaneous and in two seasons he has scored 62 goals for the team, 44 of which were scored in the 2024/25 season and 18 in 2025/26.

Of course, the gap of 389 goals is huge, but the 26-year-old has shown that his scoring rate is just as impressive. In fact, this season, Mbappé has scored more than half of the team's goals: 18 out of 34.

Although reaching CR7's number may be difficult to imagine, Kylian would need around eight seasons at the club to match his 40-year-old idol and, of course, maintain his scoring average at the same level.

The truth is that the young star has shown ambition, leadership, and determination, and he is willing to give his all to win his first Champions League and Ballon d'Or. And who knows, maybe he will set a new scoring record with Real Madrid.
