Arda Güler has responded to the statements of Serhat Pekmezci, former head of scouting at Fenerbahce and one of the people who accompanied the Real Madrid player in his early days as a professional. The Turkish scout claimed that Guler was a victim of bullying at Real Madrid by some of his teammates, something that the player categorically denies.

"I have watched with sadness the recent public statements made by former head of scouting Serhat Pekmezci, who played an important role at the beginning of my career. From day one I have been warmly welcomed by everyone at this club and have always considered this place as my family," Arda Guler said in his statement. "I am extremely proud to be a Real Madrid player and wish to defend this badge for many more years to come," said the Turk, who asked that these statements not be heeded.

"We have a very strong team and I feel happy and honoured to share the dressing room with all my team-mates. I kindly request that no attention be paid to any comment or report written or expressed on this matter," said the Real Madrid player
