After Marco Asensio and Mariano Diaz, Real Madrid have now confirmed the farewell of Eden Hazard.
The Belgian, who had one year left on his contract, is moving on from the club this summer, even though he had a year remaining on his contract.
Shortly after The Athletic reported that an immediate exit was being sought, Real Madrid announced the severance of the relationship.
"Real Madrid and Eden Hazard have reached an agreement whereby the player will leave the club as of June 30, 2023," a statement from the club confirmed.
"Eden Hazard has been part of our club for four seasons, during which time he has won eight titles: one European Cup, one Club World Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, two LaLiga titles, one Copa del Rey and two Spanish Super Cups.
"Real Madrid would like to express our affection to Eden Hazard and we wish him and his family the best of luck for the next stage of his career."
Hazard's difficult four years at Real Madrid
Eden Hazard arrived in Madrid in 2019 in a move worth more than 100 million euros for Chelsea.
He was a player who had led his national team to third in the World Cup in Russia and Chelsea to win the Europa League and who was put behind Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo among the world's best.
But, nothing went as expected as he arrived out of shape, didn't settle until October and in November an injury against PSG caused him fitness problems.
He had surgery and never came close to being an elite footballer again, as he himself and coach Carlo Ancelotti have recognized.
The Belgian leaves Real Madrid with a record unbefitting the star he was: 54 games, 30 starts and four goals.
