Real Madrid have formally announced the signing of Kylian Mbappe and it didn't take long for the Frenchman's new team-mates to welcome him on social media.

Mbappe has joined Real Madrid as a free agent on a five-year contract, the LaLiga club confirmed on Monday.

The Los Blancos team is already full of big stars but none as big as the French World Cup winner.

Some fans have suggested that his arrival may not come as the best news to certain members of the squad but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Rodrygo immediately responded to the announcement by sharing a series of 'in love' emojis.

Defender Eder Militao posted on X: 'Welcome "KMbappe. Let's go for 16'.

Iker Casillas echoed the sentiment, also making reference to this being the start of the journey to a 16th champions League title.

'Welcome to the biggest club in the world @KMbappe,' the Madrid legend wrote. 'It is never late if happiness is good. With you the path to 16 begins...'

Vinicius Jr, who holds the No 7 shirt that Mbappe prefers, also expressed his excitement over the signing.

The Brazilian shared a photo of himself and Juni Calafat, the man responsible for getting this deal over the line.

'Juni!!!!!, he wrote alongside the image of himself with his arm around the club's chief scout.
