Ancelotti on Vinicius and Rodrygo: "I'm not going to force a player to play in a position he doesn't want to"

Carlo Ancelotti, coach of Brazil, has said that he sees Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes well, "very focused" and is convinced that they will contribute a lot to the national team. The Italian coach spoke on Friday in a press conference before the friendly match against Senegal at the Emirates Stadium in London.

"We have to keep learning and improving to be ready for the World Cup. I'm happy with what we've done so far, but we're also aware of the mistakes we've made. Because now you can make mistakes, but in the World Cup if you make a mistake you go home," said Ancelotti.

"Vinicius and Rodrygo can obviously do it, because they are used to it because they have done it at Real Madrid. I see them well, I see them focused, in good physical condition, I am convinced that they can contribute a lot to the national team," he said about the possibility of both playing together.

Ancelotti was captured in one of the training sessions that Brazil has done these days in the English capital talking to Vinicius alone. "I have to talk to everyone to know the thoughts of the player, in tactical issues also, you have to ask them, talk to them, know what they think, it is very important," said the Italian.

"I'm not going to force a footballer to play in a position he doesn't want to, I want them to play where they are comfortable. With Vinicius it wasn't about this, it was another issue, more on a personal level, rather than a tactical level," he added.

About the atmosphere in the squad, Ancelotti said it is "very good" and that it is a delight to be able to work like this in order to reach the highest level.
