Thibaut Courtois challenges Javier Tebas to a face-to-face after saying he has no issues with Lamine Yamal

Thibaut Courtois is a top-caliber figure at Real Madrid, a player who also speaks clearly and directly whenever necessary. The goalkeeper recently gave an interview to Cadena COPE in which he touched on several topics regarding his club, taking the opportunity to clear up his differences with Lamine Yamal and the famous match that was supposed to be played in the United States.

What Courtois said about the Miami match

The Belgium international said he agrees that LaLiga should try to stage games in other countries, but it would first need to get all Spanish clubs on the same page. He also believes the event would have to be elevated to the level of prestige that the NFL or NBA achieves.

"I think the NFL has done it the right way, just like the NBA does. And if we want to do it that way, we'll have to find a way to talk to all the teams and make sure every team is on board," he said.

On the other hand, he explained why he has always tried to be transparent about his stance and never hide anything-something that has sometimes worked against him.

"Nobody has to tell me what to say. I think throughout my entire career I've always spoken my mind. That has often brought a lot of backlash too, because then people are just waiting for you to have one bad game or make a mistake so they can criticize you. Nobody has told me anything; I think what I said was just common sense, and in the end that's what remains," the Belgian goalkeeper concluded.

Finally, after stating that he has no problem at all with Lamine Yamal, Thibaut Courtois admitted that he would love to have a face-to-face debate with Javier Tebas to exchange views.

"Yes, of course. And I would love to have a debate with him (Javier Tebas), face to face with Tebas," he added.
