The defender is ready to leave Italy and Barça have been informed of his availibility

Kounde and Koulibaly are priorities, though, so Chelsea and Man Utd are favourites

Matthijs de Ligt's name is back on the scene, surprisingly. The Dutch defender has broken off negotiations to renew his contract with Juventus and is back on the market with the objective of moving to England or Spain.

The player's camp have communicated their decision to the necessary parties, Barça among them, and are hoping to open talks regarding a transfer. De Ligt has a contract until 2024 and Juve want €75 million, but they need to sell and that could be reduced.

Juve wanted to extend De Ligt's deal but reduce his salary as he is currently one of the highest-paid players in Italy. The player, who hasn't ever completely settled in Serie A, has not been willing to negotiate and the Italian club see an exit as a way to get the money they need to strengthen.

De Ligt's camp offered him to Barça in January and there were talks but it's remained on standby until now.

Barça are aware of the situation and that Juve are also keen on Clement Lenglet, in the event there are negotiations between the clubs. Chelsea and Manchester United are also monitoring the situation as they also need defenders and are best placed at the moment.

At Camp Nou, the priorities are currently Kounde and Koulibaly. De Ligt's availability could change things but it would be an expensive operation.
