"The Champioooooooooons!" Even if you don't know every word, you definitely know the final two. Iconic. This past fortnight, the Champions League anthem was back, blaring out at stadiums around Europe. We loved it.

Real Madrid are, of course, the defending champions, but there are plenty of genuine contenders to claim their crown in 2022-23.

Some, though, will inevitably fall at the first hurdle, with the picture slightly more clear after the matchday two fixtures.
