Is it possible Harry Kane might feel the slightest pang of regret at not being part of this thrill-a-minute Tottenham team?
As the £100million man catches up on this latest ‘Ange-ball’ special, he might reasonably wonder where the hell this has been for the past couple of years. Ange Postecoglou has granted everyone licence to express themselves and create ‘theatre’, as he likes to call it. Burnley were on the receiving end of a five-star performance.
Defenders lashing shots into the top corner from 25 yards, James Maddison casting spells from midfield as usual, and Son Heung-min running riot with a brilliant hat-trick. Little wonder the travelling fans in Lancashire were singing ‘we’ve got our Tottenham back’, as bad memories of Nuno Espirito Santo, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte fade away.
When Cristian Romero is scoring screamers, when Manor Solomon comes into the team and looks right at home and when Richarlison gets most of the afternoon off and they still hit five, you see the difference.
Let us not forget Postecoglou still has £47.5million deadline day signing Brennan Johnson to throw into the mix. Compensating for those 30 goals a season lost to Bayern Munich may be possible after all.

Obviously there is only so much you can read into a thrashing of a Burnley side who look painfully out of their depth at this level. But the evidence grows by the week that Spurs have their mojo back as they made it three league wins from four.
‘We are still at the beginning of it, we are still building, there’s still lots to be done,’ said Postecoglou.
On Johnson, he added: ‘He’s young and ambitious. It’s about the personality as much as the footballer. He is hungry and wants to take his game to another level.’
Postecoglou will spend the international fortnight figuring out where the Johnson piece fits into the puzzle. Burnley boss Vincent Kompany needs to solve his team’s defensive woes — that is now 11 goals shipped in three games.
Remarkably given the outcome, Burnley took an early lead when Lyle Foster side-footed home after teenage winger Luca Koleosho won the physical battle with Pedro Porro to cut back.
But once Spurs woke up, they were devastating. Porro played a long ball forward from right-back that Son half-controlled before knocking into Solomon. Dara O’Shea made the mistake of following the ball and left Son unmarked to take Solomon’s return pass before dinking home.

Their second was the best of the lot. Maddison had a second bite following a corner and dinked in a cross that Burnley simply could not get clear.
Shots from Dejan Kulusevski and Pape Matar Sarr were blocked before the ball broke to Romero 25 yards out. The Argentine defender hammered a shot into the top corner, kissing the woodwork.
Spurs slipped through the gears after half-time. Maddison, again excellent, curled home from outside the box. Solomon then swept the ball back for Son to crisply make it four and the South Korean completed a fine hat-trick at the near post after Porro’s beautiful through ball. That sparked a Turf Moor exodus but those who remained were at least partly rewarded with Josh Brownhill’s stoppage time consolation.
Kompany denied it was a reality check: ‘I have spent 11 years in the Premier League, I have a pretty good understanding of what the level is and no one is naive.
‘During my career I have not been a good leader or captain because of the good times, it is in these moments I feel most confident in what you need to be doing to get better. Usually, it is keeping people calm.’
While Burnley face a long season, Spurs fans are going to be royally entertained.
