Few Tottenham fans begrudge Kane a move to win the trophies his talent deserves, but by failing to turn up for training, he risks his legacy with the supporters.
If Manchester City and their bottomless pockets had a bid rejected over the weekend, you could just about understand such a provocative stance.

Until a bid actually arrives, Kane should have kept his head down and cracked on with pre-season training.
He is Tottenham’s best player, the club’s second all-time top goal scorer and has three years left on his deal. It’s almost impossible to put a price on what he’s worth to Spurs on and off the pitch — but anything below £150million should be dismissed out of hand.

It makes no sense for Spurs to sell Kane, so City must make a bid that is attractive to Daniel Levy. That is how it works.
Clubs don’t want to sell their best players — until a bid comes in that is considered sufficient compensation for losing such a key man.
We all know Kane will almost certainly go but, for many Tottenham fans, his legacy will have been tarnished by these grubby tactics.
