Tottenham 'believe they can bring in Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke BEFORE the start of the season' - with Richarlison expected to book exit to Saudi Arabia

  • The 26-year-old has a punchy £65million release clause and is keen for a move
  • Richarlison has been sounded out by Saudi Pro League clubs including Al-Ahli
  • Among forwards considered by Postecoglou are Ivan Toney and Lois Openda

Tottenham are believed to be confident of bringing Bournemouth's Dominic Solanke into the side before the start of the season, according to reports.

Mail Sport reported on Tuesday that the club were keen to tempt the striker to London as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

While 27-year-old comes with a hefty release clause worth £65million, Solanke is thought to be keen himself for a move, with Tottenham in the process of shuffling the pack at the top of the pitch.

Richarlison - who struggled for large chunks of last season with persistent injury - is believed to be close to moving on, with a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia thought to be interested in the 27-year-old.

As such, Tottenham are looking to do efficient business in the final week before their campaign begins against newly promoted Leicester on opening weekend.

Tottenham are looking confident in their bid to bring Dominic Solanke to north London soon

Ange Postecoglou has long been looking for a forward to fit into his plans for the next season

Richarlison is increasingly expected to move on this summer, amid interest from Saudi Arabia

As per The Times, Spurs believe that a potential move for Richarlison would help fund their move for Solanke, which could in part explain why the player was not brought in ahead of pre-season.

Solanke scored 21 goals in all competitions for the south coast club last season, but was overlooked by Gareth Southgate for his England squad at this summer's European Championships.

His haul tops both Son Heung-min's of 17 goals last season and Richarlison's, with the Brazil international finding the back of the net 11 times.

Should Tottenham prove successful in their pursuit of Solanke, they would in turn boost the coffers of another Premier League rival, Liverpool.

The Reds have a 20 per cent sell-on clause on the player after he left Anfield for Bournemouth in 2019, which could see the club pocket £9m if his release clause is met.

Among Tottenham's targets were players including Brentford striker Ivan Toney

Another was RB Leipzig forward Lois Openda, who also attracted interest from Chelsea

As well as front-runner Solanke, Tottenham are thought to have considered Ivan Toney, who has long been expected to move on from Brentford during this summer's window.

The side are also believed to have scouted Jonathan David of Lille, RB Leipzig's Lois Openda, Sporting Lisbon's star signing from last summer Viktor Gyokeres, and Gift Orban, who recently booked a move from Gent to Ligue 1 side Lyon.

Spurs have had a somewhat quiet window so far, with the £35m signing of Leeds' Archie Gray their only major signing of the summer to date.

Meanwhile, centre-back Joe Rodon went the other way - with the Welsh defender heading to Elland Road for around £10m.
