More than 500 members of the church attended by Daniel Anjorin rushed to support the family in the aftermath of the teenager's 'tragic and unthinkable' death, his pastor has revealed.

In a moving tribute posted as a video to Facebook, Pastor Tope Koleoso, at Jubilee Church London, told how the community rallied around the Anjorins 'spiritually, emotionally, practically from the very early moments' following the incident in Hainault last Tuesday.

Daniel was stabbed to death as he made his way to school during a 22-minute 'sword rampage'.

Marcus Arduini Monzo, 36, appeared in magistrates' court last week accused of Daniel's murder along with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of grievous bodily harm, aggravated burglary, and possession of a bladed article.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow, Tuesday May 7.

Four others were injured during the attack, including a heroic female police officer who almost lost a hand.

On a video posted to Facebook yesterday, Pastor Koleoso said: 'The horrific and shocking incident last Tuesday that led to the untimely death of Daniel Anjorin was tragic and unimaginable.

'The Anjorins are members of Jubilee Church - they have been for over 15 years. They are active in the life of the church.

'Daniel was a part of the church, in fact, he was born as a part of Jubilee Church and born again in Jubilee Church. He was baptised in Jubilee Church.

'As a church, whatever touches them, touches us all.

'As a family, therefore, we have been supporting them spiritually, emotionally, practically from the very early moments when the incident happened.'

In the moments after his death, one of the first people Daniel's brother contacted  was the church's youth leader, 'because that kind of relationship and connection is there.' He added that he himself went to sit with Daniel's parents.

Clearly moved by events, Pastor Koleoso added:  'He called the youth leader who immediately went to be with him and began to take care of him, and just giving him emotional support and spiritual support one-on-one.

'One of the pastors went immediately to the hospital. I was there with the parents as the ordeal unfolded.

'All the pastors of the church have visited them at home and just paid our condolences and offered support.

'Over 500 of us were engaged one way or the other with a prayer meeting we had which was dedicated to praying for the family.

'This has hit all of us. All of us because I knew the family personally.'

He said that the family were touched by all the messages of support they had received and wanted to thank the police 'for the sensitive way that they have cared for the family and protected them.'

Pastor Koleoso said: 'I have had numerous messages from around the world, even from this morning.

'We will not fear, we will not lose heart and we know that one day good will triumph over evil, joy will triumph over sorrow, life will triumph over death and Christ will triumph over chaos.'

His touching tribute came as hundreds of mourners gathered  on Sunday at an emotional vigil for 14-year-old Daniel.

Scores of people had tears streaming down their eyes as more than 300 gathered at the Hainault Underground Station car park in memory of the schoolboy.

Daniel's family were not present at the vigil.

Attendees sobbed during a peaceful moment's of silence which ended with a ripple of applause.

People could be seen holding hands as they paid tribute to the youngster.

Harris, a 17-year-old boy who knew Daniel but asked for his surname to remain anonymous, told the crowd: 'He was a kid that was not in any type of trouble. I'm not just saying that.

'He never did anything wrong. He focused on school, he got good grades, he (went) to church.

'His family are appreciating all your support. They've noticed everything you guys are doing community-wise, fundraiser-wise, Arsenal as well. They've noticed it all.

'On their behalf, thanks to all of you.'

On Saturday, his family released a statement in memory of their 'most loved and amazing son' issued shortly after football fans paid tribute to the Arsenal-supporting boy at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal and Bournemouth fans paid tribute to the Gunners fan with a round of applause during the 14th minute of their Premier League clash - and shortly after the match, which ended 3-0 for the London side, his family issued a tribute.

The statement, released by the Metropolitan Police, remembered Daniel as a 'loving and precious brother' and 'the most loved and amazing son' - and expressed best wishes to those who were injured in the attack.

Anjorin was killed as he walked to school at around 7am - suffering a fatal head wound after allegedly being struck with a samurai sword-type weapon. He died of his injuries in hospital.

'We as a family are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Daniel,' the family statement read.

'It is difficult for us at this time to process what has happened to him and that he will never come home. Daniel had left the house for school and then he was gone.

'Our children have lost their loving and precious brother and we have lost the most loved and amazing son.

'We would like to send our best wishes to the other victims of this unthinkable incident.

'We would also like to thank the local community for all of their support during this most difficult time.'

The private school pupil, whose mother is a science teacher, had been wearing his headphones when he was killed.

More than 7,000 people have donated just over £134,000 to a fundraiser in support of Anjorin's family and a sea of floral tributes have been left for Daniel close to the scene of the horrific attack.

Daniel attended Bancroft's School in nearby Woodford Green, the £24,999-a-year school, which yesterday flew its flag at half-mast while flowers were laid by fellow students.

Bancroft's School said on its website: 'We are devastated by the heartbreaking news of the death of Daniel. This has left us in profound shock and sorrow.

'He joined Bancroft's at seven years old and quickly became a core member of our community. He was a true scholar, demonstrating commendable dedication to his academic pursuits.

'His positive nature and gentle character will leave a lasting impact on us. Losing such a young pupil is something we will always struggle to come to terms with.'
