Coventry players were reportedly left staggered by Marcus Rashford's display in their FA Cup semi-final defeat by Man United. 

United edged past their Championship opponents at Wembley on Sunday, but their victory wasn't without drama after they squandered a three-goal lead before triumphing 4-2 on penalties. 

Coventry also had a goal chalked off in extra time by VAR when USA striker Haji Wright was marginally offside before he squared to Victor Torp to tuck home.

The chaotic clash capped the latest underwhelming performance and dismal collapse by the Red Devils in a season that has been marred by problems both on and off the field.

Rashford struggled against the Sky Blues as they repeatedly exposed United down their left side, before he was substituted shortly before full-time. He was later seen limping through the mixed zone upon his exit from Wembley.

And, according to the Manchester Evening News, several Sky Blues stars were left stunned by how Rashford - who was booed off by United fans - faded during the clash.

The report goes onto claim Coventry's players felt Rashford was easy to deal with in the second half, and they thought he could have become more involved in the game.

Meanwhile, one particular unnamed player also expressed sympathy with Red Devils supporters in regards to Rashford, believing the England star could have made the difference at Wembley, yet instead he remained on the periphery throughout.

Rashford, 26, has scored 131 goals for United since breaking into the team as an 18-year-old in 2016, but after a stunning campaign last year, he has struggled this time around.

The forward has scored just eight times in all competitions amid a struggle for form, while he has also been marred by disciplinary issues.

Rashford was heavily criticised in November when he went to a nightclub following United's 3-0 derby defeat by Man City, while he received further criticism after calling in sick for training having embarked on a 12-hour 'tequila-fuelled bender' in Belfast in January. 

Rashford's dip has been accompanied by United's wider struggles under Erik ten Hag and comes at a time when he is supposed to be entering the peak years of his career.

The Manchester Evening News report goes onto explain how Rashford's future at the club is uncertain, while his relationship with United's matchgoing fans appears to be broken.

The Red Devils return to action on Wednesday when they host Sheffield United at Old Trafford.
