Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi has apparently been the victim of a phone hacking after a nude image was shared on social media.

The Italian international's account posted the naked selfie on Instagram, but he later apologised and said he had been hacked.

Frattesi has been in the news a lot lately as transfer speculation links him with a move to Roma, the city of his birth.

However, this incident has ensured he has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

"Guys, I'm sorry, but someone hacked my phone somehow and this photo was published... sorry!" Frattesi posted later to his 75,000 followers.

By that stage, however, it was merely damage limitation as the inevitable screenshots meant the photo continued to go viral.

The 22-year-old is currently on holiday in Ibiza with teammate Gianluca Scamacca.
