Angel Di Maria had an eventful Juventus debut on Monday evening. The Argentine put on a show and found himself on the scoresheet as Italy's Old Lady beat Sassuolo 3-0 to open the Serie A season.

Opening the scoring on the night, Di Maria went on to assist Dusan Vlahovic's second goal - Juventus' third.

But it wasn't all good for the former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain man, as he ended the game injured and had to come off in the second half due to suspected muscle problems.

"Di Maria underwent radiological exams which revealed a low-grade injury to the adductor longs muscle in his left thigh," Juventus' statement said, before explaining the duration of his absence.

Now, with him facing 10 days on the sidelines, Juventus are growing concerned.

With Paul Pogba also out for a spell, Di Maria picking up an injury was the last thing Juventus needed.

Juventus are away to Sampdoria next Monday night before Di Maria will be re-evaluated. Then they take on Roma at home on August 27.
