The death of Dr. Carles Miñarro touched each and every one of the FC Barcelona players and coaching staff, which led to the suspension of the match that was due to be played on Saturday at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys against Osasuna.

The Blaugrana players arrived at the Montjuic stadium unaware of the news of the deceased doctor, who was found dead in the hotel room where the Catalan team was staying before the match, at the Hotel Melina Gran Melia.

"FC Barcelona is saddened by the sad news of the death of the first team doctor, Carles Minarro, this afternoon. The Board of Directors and all the staff would like to express our sincere condolences to his family and friends," said FC Barcelona in a statement.

Miñarro was a very close person to all the players, as he was in the day-to-day running of the team and was the right-hand man of Dr. Carlos Pruna.

"We found out when Barcelona communicated it. We have to give our condolences to the family and to Barcelona. We felt it because we did not put any objection to the suspension. You can not play a game like that," explained the president of Osasuna, Luis Sabalza.
