A few days ago, Lionel Messi made headlines when he posted a photo at Barcelona's remodeled stadium. The Argentine soccer player was passing through the city with his teammate, Rodrigo de Paul, and without notifying any of the club's authorities, they decided to enter and take some photographs that generated a worldwide impact and that again recalled the Argentine's time at the club that gave him more joy.
With memories of Messi still fresh, Barcelona fans have once again felt nostalgic for his time in Spain and there has been talk of the milestones he achieved with the Catalans. With so many memories, the debate recently raged over what was Messi's first goal for Barcelona, where former Mexican national team goalkeeper Jorge Campos claimed the memory, but a fan corrected him.

Jorge Campos claims to have received Messi's first goal with Barcelona
Jorge Campos is a very active person on social media, especially on X, where he publishes old photos and remembers milestones in his career. Taking advantage of the impact that Messi generated in Barcelona fans, Campos published a video where he claimed to have received the Argentine's first goal with the Catalans, but it was not so.
The Mexican uploaded the video where Messi scores a goal with the following text: "DID YOU KNOW...? Lio Messi's first goal for Barcelona was in a charity match in aid of HIV-AIDS victims. The goalkeeper for the Rest of the World that day? Me. Let's just say I left a little bit of luck to the kid Brody":
SABÍAS QUE…?
— Jorge Campos (@Innmortal_) November 16, 2025
El primer gol de Lio Messi con el Barcelona fue en un partido benéfico a favor de víctimas de VIH-SIDA.
¿El portero del Resto del Mundo ese día? Yo.
Digamos que le dejé un poquito de suerte al pibe Brody.

Barcelona fan corrects Jorge Campos
The post generated many comments, but it was one in particular that "ruined" Campos' memory. "Not to be a pain, but the first goal with Barca was scored against Palamos, in a friendly (0-6), on 20/7/2004," commented a Barcelona fan on his X account, correcting the former Mexican goalkeeper.
"The second was against Kashima Antlers, in another friendly in Tokyo (0-5), on 1/8/2004. The third one is yours. It was on 30/11/2004, his first goal at the Camp Nou," he added to the fan who, unfortunately, "ruined" the memory of a proud Jorge Campos of having played against Messi when he was still very young.
