More than 1,800 police officers controlled Olympique de Marseille fans
As mentioned, riot police took to the streets of Madrid on Tuesday to confront Olympique de Marseille fans outside the Santiago Bernabeu stadium a couple of hours before the Champions League match between the French team and Real Madrid.
The police had to intervene to control the violent French fans, who were already trying to cause incidents on the subway journey to the vicinity of the stadium. A total of 1,873 police and emergency personnel are part of the security operation designed by the Government Delegation in the Community of Madrid.
