Roy Keane has stated his intention to leave the world of football punditry within the next 10 years.

The Man United legend was involved in an incident with an Arsenal fan at the Emirates Stadium last year.

43-year-old Scott Law was banned from watching football for three years in June after being convicted of headbutting Keane following Arsenal's 3-1 win over United last season.

'I don't think I'll be doing punditry in 10 years' time,' he said on the , brought to you by Sky Bet.

'I love football but the hassle of matches, getting to games and the hassle of fans.

'I was in court a few months ago with somebody headbutting me - do you think I enjoy that side of it? Absolutely not.'

'The games are fine. Getting to the games, parking up, people shouting your name - good stuff, bad stuff - it's a nuisance. Being a pundit in 10 years, not.'

Keane told the court earlier this year in Highbury he 'couldn't believe' he had come under attack, having not spotted anyone coming towards him.

He said: 'There was a bit of confusion, a lot of people, lots of noise, shouting, as you would expect, five to ten minutes to go in the football match.

'Before I knew it, I’m hit. I just felt the contact, and I’ve fallen back through some doors.

'The only way I can describe it is, without a doubt, in shock. I didn’t expect that to happen, not when I was in the workplace.'

When beginning his testimony, Keane was asked to name his profession and paused before telling the court, 'Erm, pundit, allegedly', before adding that he also 'does some podcast stuff'.

Footage was posted on social media of Micah Richards stepping in to calm an apparent confrontation.

On this, Keane told the court: 'Micah then gets hold of someone. He was just trying to get a grip of him and make sure he didn't run off.

'I was saying, "Call the police". For about 15 or 20 seconds Micah was holding him up against a wall (to stop) him getting away.'

Law then fled the scene after Mr Richards lost his grip, the court heard, before the two pundits headed onwards to give their post-match analysis.

Keane, who was celebrating his 53rd birthday on the podcast, made his debut as a pundit in 2011 five years after retiring from football.

He has become hugely popular with fans in the role due to his strong opinions and unique style of delivery. 

Keane also spoke about Man United's prospects in the new season, admitting the team's spine concerns him.

'It's always a worry for me about competing and I still worry about the spine of that Manchester United team. For all the nice play they have and good players, I still worry about the goalkeeper and striker.

'On paper they have a decent squad, but the reality is when they've played games, and last year with their record in the league they were so open, If you're on about competing, I worry about the spine of the team.'

United have so far added four players to the team after Erik ten Hag was confirmed to be the man to lead the club. 

Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro arrived earlier in the window to bolster the ranks up front and at the back respectively. 

But fans were handed a double boost on Tuesday night when both Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui were officially unveiled as United players from Bayern Munich in a £60million move.
