The 25 minutes played by Endrick for Brazil against the United States, in the 1-1 friendly draw, was not enough for the Palmeiras striker to break Pele's record, which he had equaled with his goal against Mexico.

That goal in the 3-2 win over Mexico could have made Endrick the only Brazil international to have scored in four consecutive international matches before the age of 18. The new Real Madrid player had scored against England (at Wembley) and Spain (at the Santiago Bernabeu), but could not repeat the feat at the Camping World Stadium (Orlando), better known as the Citrus Bowl.

Dorival Junior had already stated beforehand that there was no need to put Endrick under additional pressure and the coach opted to leave him on the bench for this last friendly against the United States.

So much so that the coach knows he has a pearl on his hands and does not want to give him the added responsibility of having to be the center of attention of the rivals from minute one. That is why Endrick has not yet been a starter in any of the six matches he has played with the 'Canarinha'. He had previously played against Colombia, the day of his full debut, on November 17, 2023, and against Argentina in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.

Endrick, who will turn 18 on July 21, will have another chance to surpass 'O Rei' at the Copa America if he scores in four consecutive matches.
