Vinicius has publicly apologized after his snub to Xabi Alonso in the Clasico. In a message written on his social networks, the Brazilian striker apologized to the Madrid fans for his gestures in the change against Barcelona.
"Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team," Vinicius writes as justification for his reaction to the change in the match at the Bernabeu.
And he ends his apology with a declaration of love for the club: "I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since day one."

Xabi Alonso warned that he would address the issue today
The Real Madrid coach did not want to add fuel to the fire in the press conference after the victory over Barcelona, but he did warn that the issue would be discussed at Valdebebas after the days off granted to the squad.
"I'm left with a lot of good things from Vini. I don't want to lose focus on the important things, but these are things that we will talk about," said Xabi after the victory in the Clasico. It was an attempt to ease the tension but without drawing a line under the matter. "We'll talk about it. There are different personalities in the squads and you have to understand them. Now we'll enjoy it and then I'll talk to him, of course."
It remains to be seen whether Vinicius' private and public apologies will resolve the issue for Xabi Alonso, or whether his outburst will have sporting consequences in the upcoming matches.
